These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC) govern the use of the temporary luggage storage and automated key concierge service provided by Lockers in Town Lyon, located at 5 rue Chavanne, 69001 Lyon, France.

The Client
: The term "client" refers to the person whose payment information is used to book and use one or more services offered by Lockers in Town Lyon. The Client must be at least 16 years old and is responsible for bookings and the proper use of the services offered.

1. Scope

These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings and use of temporary secure luggage, personal belongings and key storage services offered by Lockers in Town Lyon exclusively via the website www.lockersintown.com .

All orders imply the Client's full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. By booking a locker via our website, the user acknowledges having read, understood, and accepted the stated terms.

Sales are conducted exclusively online, for use on a standalone site 24/7, via a unique personal access code.

2. Services offered

Lockers in Town Lyon offers:
- Luggage locker rentals in various sizes (S, M, XL) for a fixed period.
Locker S: (H 37 x W 48 x D 58cm)
Locker M: (H 46 x W 48 x D 58cm)
Locker XL: (H 84 x W 48 x D 58cm)

- Key locker rentals, primarily for professionals and seasonal rentals of real estate or other properties.
Key locker size: (H 9.5 x W 23.5 x D 29 cm)

 

3. Booking and Usage Terms

- Reservations are made exclusively online via our dedicated form, and payment is made by credit card or PayPal.
- Access to the premises and lockers is permitted only during the reserved period.
- Once payment is validated, an email containing access and payment details will be sent. An access code will be provided to the Customer. This code is personal and must not be shared with any third party.
- The Customer is responsible for the use of their personal code, ensuring their locker is properly closed, and securing their belongings.
- It is the Customer's responsibility to check the size and weight of their luggage before booking. No refund will be issued if the luggage does not meet the permitted dimensions.
- The Lockers in Town Lyon premises are under constant video surveillance and equipped with a burglar alarm system to ensure the safety of property and people. By entering the premises, the Customer expressly accepts the presence of these security devices.
- The Client is responsible for the persons accompanying him/her and undertakes never to allow unknown persons into the premises under penalty of incurring civil and criminal liability in the event of damage, injury or offences.

4. Prices and Time Slot Operation

Prices are listed on the website and include VAT at the current legal rate. They vary depending on the locker size and the duration of the reservation.
Lockers in Town Lyon may adjust its prices at any time without prior notice.

Rental slots begin on the hour. Reservations for a slot that has already begun will not
result in any discount or deductions.


Luggage and/or keys left behind must be collected by the Client before the expiry of their reservation.

Rental extensions must be made before the expiry of the reservation via the email received at the time of initial purchase, subject to the applicable rates.

The Customer is responsible for choosing their locker(s) and must ensure beforehand that the personal belongings they wish to store are of a compatible size and that they are physically able to place them in the locker. No refund will be given if the Customer's luggage cannot fit in the previously reserved locker for any reason.
The Customer is responsible for choosing their reserved time slot and will not be entitled to a price adjustment if they extend their reservation beyond the initially selected time.

5. No right of withdrawal

In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to services that must be provided on a specific date or during a specific period.
The Client, having been informed that they do not have a right of withdrawal, therefore expressly waives any refund for the service once it has been paid for and booked.
Changes to the date, time, or service remain possible subject to a processing and administration fee equivalent to 10% of the initially booked service.

6. Customer Responsibilities and Obligations
The Customer certifies that the personal information provided to Lockers in Town Lyon at the time of booking is accurate and is responsible for verifying it before submitting. Any false information will result in the immediate termination of the contract without refund.

Lockers are to be used solely for the temporary storage of luggage (or keys, if applicable) belonging to the Customer.

The Client is solely responsible for the contents stored in the reserved locker.

The Client is strictly prohibited from storing, and agrees not to store:
- Luxury items
- Cash, credit cards, property deeds, passports and identity documents
- Telephones, computers, tablets and electronic equipment, jewelry, works of art or similar items, precious metals, precious stones, watches, cameras…
- Professional tools and equipment, as well as any document or file subject to professional secrecy
- Chemical, toxic, or hazardous products
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives
- Flammable materials, gases, fuels
- Drugs and illicit substances
- Animals, living beings, plants, perishable food
- Waste or illegal items
- Unpackaged food or beverages


Lithium-ion batteries, or any other type of battery in any form whatsoever, are the sole responsibility of the Customer, who assumes full legal and financial liability in the event of malfunction or damage to Lockers in Town Lyon or any third party.

A €300 penalty may be applied for the storage of prohibited items.

The Customer agrees to use only the locker assigned at the time of purchase, opened with their unique personal code, and will not store anything in any other locker. If the Customer uses a locker other than the one assigned at the time of booking, whether knowingly or unknowingly, Lockers in Town Lyon will be released from all liability and obligations towards the Customer and their belongings. In such cases, the financial guarantees mentioned in Chapter 8 will not apply.
Similarly, the Customer must ensure that they always close the rented locker during and at the end of their rental period when leaving the Lockers in Town Lyon premises. It is also the customer's responsibility to ensure that their luggage is properly closed (code, padlock, etc.) and identified (tag with customer's name and contact telephone number).
At the end of the scheduled rental period, or upon early departure, the Client is obligated to return the locker empty and clean of all waste or dirt, if applicable. Failure to do so will result in a €150 penalty.
Leaving suitcases or other belongings outside the lockers, whether or not a reservation has been made, is prohibited and will incur a €200 penalty for unauthorized use of the space, regardless of the duration. This situation will not, under any circumstances, entitle the Client to the guarantees offered in Chapter 8. The person who leaves these belongings outside the lockers assumes full responsibility in case of loss, theft, or intervention by law enforcement.
Any misuse of the Lockers in Town Lyon premises for any activity other than the storage of personal belongings will result in a flat-rate surcharge of €300.
The Client agrees to pay any applicable penalties upon Lockers in Town Lyon's first request.


The Client agrees not to use the lockers for any illegal or unlawful purpose.
The Client also agrees to use the equipment correctly and will be liable for any damage or deterioration caused to the lockers, the system, and the premises to Lockers in Town Lyon and any third parties. Any incident must be reported immediately to the company via the hotline.
It is forbidden to exceed the storage capacity of the lockers or to force them closed. In the event of damage, the resulting repair or replacement costs may be charged without limit. The Client will also bear the legal and financial responsibility for any intervention or repair if the locker(s) cannot be reopened normally due to improper use. This situation will result in a €100 surcharge payable before any intervention, in addition to any necessary repairs and related costs.

In the case of lockers intended for storing keys or documents, the customer is exceptionally authorized to share access codes; however, they remain responsible for the individuals and their actions with whom they share access rights. The customer remains the sole point of contact for Lockers in Town Lyon. Lockers in Town Lyon disclaims all liability concerning the collection and return of keys, as well as related rentals or loans (including, but not limited to, delays by either party , cancellations, losses, thefts, etc.). It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that their belongings have been properly recorded and returned. Overstaying the reservation of key lockers will result, regardless of the circumstances or the party at fault, in the penalties stipulated in Article 8, which the customer agrees to pay.



7. Liability of Lockers in Town Lyon

The premises are equipped with a permanent video surveillance system and a burglar alarm. However, Lockers in Town Lyon cannot be held responsible for acts of vandalism, theft, or damage committed by third parties.
Lockers in Town Lyon provides a storage space rental service and does not provide safekeeping for stored goods.
The company also disclaims all liability for loss, theft, or damage to stored goods due to acts that are not its own.
Lockers in Town Lyon's obligation to its customers is an obligation of means.

Lockers in Town Lyon cannot be held responsible for failures caused by service disruptions or interruptions from its internet service providers, electricity providers, or any other service provider whose contractual relationship is essential to the proper functioning of the services offered by Lockers in Town Lyon, or for any other event beyond our knowledge or control (strikes, outages, riots, war, civil war, industrial or natural disasters, etc.).


At all times and under all circumstances, the Client shall not hold Lockers in Town Lyon liable for any delays, or for the consequences thereof, on reservations, tickets, and transportation of any kind (flights, trains, buses, carpooling, etc.), rentals, and other forms of accommodation. The Client also excludes all legal recourse for financial losses, lost revenue, lost opportunities
, lost profits, and any moral or physical damages resulting from a delay or malfunction of the services offered, even if Lockers in Town Lyon was aware that such loss or damage might occur.

Lockers in Town Lyon, within the limits and requirements of the law, may authorize access to and control of the premises, lockers and goods stored therein by law enforcement or emergency services.

8. Financial Guarantee

Lockers in Town Lyon offers a €300 guarantee per customer on stored goods, excluding unauthorized items (Article 6), in the event of proven gross negligence on the part of Lockers in Town Lyon. This guarantee is subject to presentation of the original proof of purchase and the corresponding theft report, duly filed with the relevant authorities. This financial guarantee is not insurance.
The customer agrees that claims must be submitted no later than 72 hours after the end of the rental period; claims submitted after this time will be considered inadmissible.


9. Late Removal – Forgotten Items

After the reservation period:
- The lockers and the store will remain inaccessible.
- Lockers in Town Lyon reserves the right, with the Client's tacit consent, to access the locker to retrieve forgotten items and store them temporarily.
- To retrieve their belongings, the Client must contact Lockers in Town Lyon via the WhatsApp hotline: +33 6 85 42 71 07 during its opening hours.
- A penalty corresponding to the actual overstay time at the current hourly rate plus €25 may be applied. The Client agrees to pay any such penalties.

- After 5 days, the Client may request the return of their belongings at their own expense, plus a €50 processing fee and payment for the days exceeded at the current rate.
- Lockers in Town Lyon accepts no responsibility for the integrity of returned luggage. Once handed over to the carrier, the Client's goods are no longer the responsibility of Lockers in Town Lyon.


After 30 days without contact, the items will be considered abandoned.
The Lockers in Town Lyon will then be free to dispose of them as it sees fit, including destroying them.

11. Applicable Law – Dispute

These Terms and Conditions are governed by French law and shall be interpreted in French.
Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in Annecy.
An amicable mediation procedure may be initiated before any legal action is taken.

12. Protection of personal data

Lockers in Town Lyon is committed to respecting the confidentiality of collected data, including images from its video surveillance system, in accordance with the GDPR and applicable regulations. The personal data and information collected are essential for order processing and for security purposes as required by law. This information is retained only as long as necessary to guarantee the performance of subscribed services and any applicable warranties.
Video surveillance recordings are kept for a limited period and used solely in the event of a security incident.

13. Amendments to the General Terms and Conditions

Lockers in Town Lyon reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time.
The applicable version is the one in effect on the day of booking
